Cancellation cover – don’t rely on your airline, they may pay if your flight is delayed but if you have booked accommodation separately they won’t be obliged to pay for an alternative unless it has all been booked as a package deal – so if you lose three days of your holiday, and have paid upfront for excursions or car hire, you won’t be able to reclaim these costs from your airline.
